4-28-08 - "We Love Candye Kane Benefit"Concert

Oceanside blues singer Candye Kane has been diagnosed with a form of pancreatic cancer, and her many friends in the San Diego music community are banding together for a fundraising concert next month. Candye's surgery was last week and went well, but she has limited medical insurance.  In order to support our sister in blues, several efforts are under way to raise money to help her cover her medical bills.

The "We Love Candye Kane Benefit" concert will be held at 7 p.m. May 5 at Humphrey's Backstage Lounge in San Diego. Tickets will be $20 at the door. Scheduled to perform are the Sue Palmer Orchestra with Toni Price, John "Juke" Logan, Joey Harris and the Mentals, Missy Andersen, the Bayou Brothers with Michele Lundeen, Anna Troy, Scottie Blinn and Company, the Mighty Horns of Robbie Smith and Chris Klich, Billy Watson, Ruby Presnell, Kenny Schoppmyer's Delta Heat, and the Committee.

3-9-08 - Missy Andersen Goes to Denmark!

It's almost here!

I'm so excited to be playing with my Danish friends in the next few weeks - Asmus Jensen, drummer for Omar and the Howlers, Soren B, bassist for Thorbjorn Risager, Jeppe Juul, organist for Kira and the Kindred Spirit, and Heine Andersen, former guitarist for Candye Kane.  They are all great musicians and I can't wait because I know we're going to have a wang, dang, doodle good time!

We'll be doing dates at Mojo, Det Bruunske Pakhus, Arne B, and Industrien.  It will be nice to play again at some of these venues and I'm really looking forward to my first date at the others.  There's always room for more favorites!.

If you're near any of these places, come on down and party with us.  If not, maybe you can see it on Youtube when we're back.  See you soon!

1-1-08 - Happy New Year!

Whew!  We made it to another year.  I wish you all the best of everything, but most especially - love, happiness, and enough sense to recognize it when it presents itself.

I sure had a blast opening the new year with all of y'all down at Patrick's.  I want to thank Paul Viani, Tom Mylett, Heine Andersen, and Bruce Hutcherson for some great sounds and inspiration.  You guys rock!  I also want to thank that nice lady who gave me that pretty, jeweled bracelet.  You can never have enough bling!
